Additionally, all of these categories are further segmented and vary depending upon the social status and class of the character being described. It is a lot to take in and follow, but extremely This was a beautiful novel that required effort, patience, and dedication to truly appreciate.
It is a lot to take in and follow, but extremely enriching to be able to intimately understand and vicariously partake in a lifestyle that has now been lost to time. I was able to identify strongly with those descriptions.
It was surprising not to sound sexist that a man was able to capture and recreate those sentiments felt by a woman in ecstasy, in insecurity, and in grief so accurately, so truthfully, through his prose. Particularly when woman scoffs at the fickle, selfish nature of man.
Woman truly was made to handle pain. Regardless, her life kept swinging from one extreme to the other, and it makes me feel grateful for what little I have to put up with in comparison. In this sense, reading her story can be very therapeutic. The novel is by no means perfect, and due to the integrity to history and detail that Faruqi maintains - the organization and flow of the novel can be a bit rough.

I was fooled And he went away. He walked, proud and swaying this way and that In the garden of beauty, elegance, and grace, I did not get to walk in the garden of union with him And he went away.
Like Hafiz, all nightlong I wept and lamented: Woe, oh woe is me! I could not attain union with him And he went away.
